The Managed Outcome intervention system is made up of the following elements:

Initial Assessment. Clinical assessment of patients/employees using evidence–based screening tools, clinical examination and blood/urine tests.

Treatment Planning. Patients will be included in discussion regarding treatment planning which may include

  1. Brief interventions
  2. Outpatient programme or,
  3. Inpatient programmes.

Report Back And Discharge Planning. Prior to discharge, employers have the opportunity to receive feedback on the treatment outcome and discharge plan, and advise the patient of the company’s requirements

Continuing Care-Treatment Follow Up and Monitoring. Patients whose were initially offered a brief intervention will be followed up for 6 months via telephonic contact. Those whose initial intervention involved an inpatient or outpatient program will require a continuing care program and will be followed up for a period of two years according to the following protocol:

Clinical review at 1 week and 2 week intervals post discharge, 1 month post discharge and monthly follow up thereafter.

Quarterly assessment.

Annual full medical and psychiatric assessment.

Random testing if part of continuing care contract.

Follow up is performed both via telephonic outbound call-centre agent (nursing sister) and clinical review by GP, psychologist and psychiatrist according to the discharge treatment plan.

Co-morbid Conditions. Co-morbid psychiatric conditions are assessed and managed by Dr Bothwell.

Employer Feedback. Employers will receive quarterly feedback on all patients
